 WASH Interventions program

Implementation of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) interventions aimed at strengthening policy and institutional framework; provision of climate resilient WASH services in communities, schools and health centers through construction and upgrade of WASH infrastructure; hygiene and sanitation promotion; and emergency preparedness and response.

• provide appropriate technical support in achieving WASH results for children in countries.  Such as gathering and analyzing data WASH situation in the country, in drafting sector strategies and other programmatic documents, in providing specialized technical assistance for design and implementation of WASH interventions.

• Development of WASH sector strategies, plans, standards, guidelines, sector briefs and other related documents.

• Development and upgrade of WASH management information system (MIS); 

• Groundwater mapping and monitoring.

• Sector financing.

• Borehole drilling.

• Design and implementation of WASH infrastructure projects including assessments/feasibility for WASH infrastructure (such as piped water supply systems, solar water pumping system, water and wastewater treatment plants, latrines and handwashing facilities in communities, schools and health centers) in development as well as emergency settings; preparation/review of technical specifications, designs, drawings, bills of quantities, cost estimates and bidding documents for WASH infrastructure; procurement of services and goods; and construction supervision/quality assurance of WASH infrastructure;

• Hygiene and sanitation promotion.

• Water quality monitoring/surveillance.

• Sector assessments and evaluations.

• Sector coordination.

• Development of funding concept notes and proposals, especially for climate financing mechanisms.

• Infection prevention and control; and

• Menstrual Hygiene Management.
